Have just inherited an OKTA Touch and have some questions that need answered before I can make use of it.

1. It seems not to need a SIM card, so how do I get it set up for my current mobile number?

2. Is the OKTA Touch Telecom only, or can I use it with other providers such as Vodafone?

3. Is prepay available for these phones or are they contract only?

4. Is the microSD card vital? Where can I get one and how much do they cost?

Any info gratefully received.

the OKTA Touch is a CDMA phone that can only be used on telecoms old CDMA network ... to get a number on it you need to call telecom on 123, should be able to get it on both postpaid and prepay, microSD card is for additional storage, they dont cost much ... look at pricespy.co.nz for prices.

In answer to Q1 - it's a CDMA network handset, no SIM required.
Q2 - I think it's Telecom only
Q3 - unsure
Q4 - not really vital (depends on what you want from the handset), for prices: www.pricespy.co.nz

Current Phone:
- Android: Samsung SM-G900F Galaxy S5 (XT)
- Win Phone 8: Samsung ATIV S (XT)

Current Tablet:

- Acer Iconia 7" Android Tablet

Thanks for the info.

Visited local Telecom shop and got it sorted.

FYI :
1. Prepay not available.
2. CDMA network scheduled to be phased out in 2012.

I am curious as to why prepay is not available on the Okta Touch?

Because Telecom never offered a good data plan on CDMA Prepay and people would incur lots of charges if using the data capabilities on this handset...
