She's been my mate for over three years now...been through one digitizer...now starting to show signs of wear.  Cracked Lens glass but still takes good pics.  Only problem now is that the icon on the top of the screen continually tells me the speaker phone is on and wont turn off.  Anyone suffered from that before?   Am thinking about upgrading, daughter suggests an iphone..."ahh yeah right...and I'll buy a ten speed bike with one of them little seats and skinny wheels too...haha...".
Thinking may be a Sony Xperia X1 and donating the old girl to my teen daughter who will love her for as long as she plays Jonas brothers videos and mp3s.  Any thoughts and suggestions as to a Rom upgrade to 6.1,  for the old Jasjam, has anyone done this sucessfully and still able to use all the bits and pieces? and what other than the X1 would people suggest.   I use wifi and browse on Skyfire, use all the word functions and excel and almost every function possible.  (Strange it's a she I guess....)

Suggestions, tips ..addresses to Resthomes for retired Jasjams....

I'm using Pays' WM6.1 WWE ROM and it works great. No idea about the icon, perhaps flashing a new ROM will do the trick?

As for a new phone, how about the HTC Touch Pro 2 or something in that line? I personally would stick with HTC thanks to the large community, availability of custom ROMs and applications.

Yeah, NZ purchased Jasjam, give it a whril, but you might want to get HardSPL first. (HardSPL helps preventing your device getting bricked if the flash process goes awry.) Check the Hermes thread in the XDA-Developers Wiki for more info.

the Sony Erricson Xperia X1 is made by HTC so in that sense you would still be "sticking with HTC"

If winmo I think should stick to touch pro 2. As for jasjam Crc's probably as good if not better. Has pays return after his biking accident with his jam? That's how long ago he updated his ROM. Imo there are tons of great chefs on xda

Also the X1 has plenty of support at XDA-developers... It was my phone prior to getting the i8910.

The X1 is nice, and has a pretty appealing price point right now, but obviously the Touch Pro 2 is a good phone also and has a better keyboard (I've spent some time with that handset too) and screen than the X1 (same res, but larger).

I am really happy with my Touch Pro 2. Windows mobile 6.5 would make it even better in September. If you don't want the keyboard then consider the Touch Diamond 2.

Do whatever you want to do man.

I went from the jasjam to the diamond 2. It's nice having a phone that fits easily into your pocket but I really really really miss the hardware keyboard. If you are even slightly partial to the keyboard get the pro2 over the diamond2.

Like littlescott, I went from JasJam to Touch Diamond 2, but unlike him, I don't miss the keyboard - the reduced bulk is worth it. Pro 2 is nice tho, but heavier than TD2.

I actually went from PPC2003 to WM6.1 on my Dell x50v, so check out XDA Devlopers forum and take the JasJam to a new level ! No value as a trade, so have some fun with it.

Can't wait for WM6.5 and upgraded TF3D.
