hello! so glad to have found this forum :)
i've been very happy with my ipaq 4150 until recently - i can no longer connect to wireless AP's!! i must have changed some setting because my IP address always changes to: 169.254.154.90 even when around AP's that ive used for months :(
i've used vxUtil to check what my IP is and when i turn on the device it's 127.0.0.1, then when i try and connect to anything wirelessly it becomes 169.254.154.90.

any ideas what i can fiddle with to start getting connected again??
thanks,
IPfreely

Tap Start | Settings | Connections and change to the Advanced tab. Open the Network Cards and check what's the configuration on the Wireless card. It should be all set to automatic, but if you say the Pocket PC always have the same address it could be that this was changed to connect to a specific network.

hi freitasm thanks for the reply,
i do have everything checked to be automatic. the progs that automatically connect to the internet are set to be "my isp", and private network settings is set to: "my work network". is the 169.* address something that it assigns itself if it can't get a connection?

Hmmm. Yes, could be. I only had this kind of problem once with my h4150 - and I did a hard reset to solve it. At the time I thought was a hiccup with some registry setting...
