I have a Harrier and I use a bluetooth headset as the handsfree device with it all the time. This is great until I want to use Skype, the sound (input and output) still goes through the Harriers devices and not the headset. Is there a way to set the Harrier up so that when using applications like Skype the sound is diverted through the bluetooth headset?

Hi Apaice - welcome to Geekzone - home of the shortest & clearest forum replies on the planet. :-)

Is it just the Harrier thats affected M? Or is it all Phone Edition Pocket PCs w/B.T. ?

Some answers can be quite long - you've seen this in other discussions .

Yes, most current Widcomm/Broadcom based Bluetooth stacks are like this. Exceptions are the HP iPAQ hx4700 and rx3700 series - they have built-in headset support, but not stereo.

A few months ago someone floated a non-authorised version of a patch that added the A2DP (Advance Audio Distribution Profile) to the Widcomm/Broadcom Bluetooth stack - but only worked on HTC Blue Angel (PDA2k) and HTC Harrier (Harrier or Verizon XV6600). In some other models it would completely corrupt the sound system - nothing would come out, not even through the speaker. Only a hard reset would fix this. And Widcomm/Broadcom asked the sites hosting the file to take it down, since it wasn't an authorised patch.

So that's the story.

Long post, right?

The patch is not legally available since it was never released by the official channels. As for the Voice Command, there's no way to buy it until Microsoft let's us do it...

Actually, why don't you try Fonix VoiceCentral 3? It does have more features than Voice Command, including text to speech for e-mails, sending voice recorded e-mails, and more... I have both, and use VoiceCentral more.

Thanks for everyone who has replied to my original query. I now have the Harrier setup with the patch but when I try to connect my Logitech Bluetooth Headset it can not find any services, does anyone have a headset that works with the patch? I will change over to that if needed.
