Hello everybody,

I'm new to the forum, and I am really hoping there is someone out there that can help me. I just bought an Ipaq H5500. I want to connect to the internet (via bluetooth) through my PC which is using an ADSL modem connected witha a USB/ethernet port.

My Bluetooth hub is made by Logitec, it is part of their DiNovo cordless keyboard, Mouse, Mediapad setup.

I have tried using the directions on this forum for the 5450, but some of the screens in the documentation are different, and I just can't seem to get the connection going. I am wondering if I need to add a new bluetooth hub. It feels like I am close.

I have tried adjusting bluetooth settings, setting internet sharing on my pc. etc. I'm wondring if I have over analyzed the problem ????

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Have a look in our Bluetooth Guides again and try using the Windows Mobile 2003 guides. Even if the screens are different, the operation is the same and should work as well.

Check that you don't have a personal firewall blocking your Bluetooth communications - this is a common problem. We have a list of this to check if the network access doesn't work - check in the top of the Bluetooth Guides.

I had a look at the Pocket PC 2003 Guide, and I'm close. (I think) I keep getting a message saying BT Network access is connecting via Bluetooth Null Modem????

I have an email into Logitec to make sure that the hub is compatible but it came with "network Access" tools so I am guess it is.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The message is correct. Null Modem is the method used for access via LAP (a PPP connection over Bluetooth). If it asks you for a username then do not enter anything and check the box to remember. If you have already entered then delete the connection, the icon on Bluetooth Manager on your Pocket PC and start again.

I'm not getting any kind of prompt for id or password, It looks like it is timing out. When I look at the properties for the connection is says BT Access, and under number it says "connect".

I did notice that when I got ActiveSync to work via blue tooth, I was able to keep the device connected and log into thenet from the PDA. So it must be possible to get this thing working.

I noticed in the the Windows Pocket PC 2003 guide it says I should have a device which is the access point. I don't have that only my pc (known as eleanor) shows up. When I specifiy I want to use bluetooth to connect it asks me to bond with a phone??

I was reading the troubleshooting guide, and I just realized that I don't think I have a DNS entered on the BT adapter on the desktop. Where do I get that information from?

If you are connecting through LAP (using ICS) then enter the DNS IP address on your Bluetooth adapter network configuration (right-click My Network Places on your desktop and select Properties).

If you're using PAN then you enter the DNS in the Bluetooth network card configuration on your Pocket PC, where the IP address was entered.
