Hi,

having trouble connecting to mobile jetstream with my Tungsten|T and kyocera 2235

the problem seems to be that the tungsten doesn't like dialing the # at the start of the number. I can connect to other isp's using a local call number no problem, I can dial a number that has a # in it (but the first character is a number ie 7#77) but do you think I can get it to dial #777 no

any help greatly appreciated etc etc
Cheers

It should be something with the phone. There's another thread where users discussed this and blamed on the phone (on that case a Nokia). But they were using Palm too.

Yeah I read the other thread thats why I thought this might be the best place to come after wasting my time with telecom who just told me to go read my tungsten manual.

the nokia problem was to do I believe with the ir connect I'm using serial cable which I've had working with my desktop connecting to mobile jetstream hence i think it's a palm problem unfortunately I much prefer my palm to my crappy phone!

I know the feeling...

I don't have a CDMA mobile here, so can't help much. But someone else will jump in...

I have successfully connected the same phone to an m125 (OS 4.0.1). If you are absolutely positive that the problem is because the Palm doesn't like the leading '#', then this is obviously a bug in whatever PalmOS you are running on your T2 (OS 5.0.1?). In this case, a firmware upgrade on the Palm would be the obvious next step.

If you're not absolutely sure as to the cause, then I'd suggest that you tell us more about the exact symptoms of the problem so that we can examine other possibilities.

Hi,

what connection settings are you using?

I've just managed to get hold of an older palm 105 OS 3.5 and have the same problem
I've set the phone speed to 19,200 and tried both no init string and the one that telecom say's to use when you get the data kit off them.

To date Telecom told me they don't support palm, Palm told me they don't support cdma, and kyocera told me that there tech support is in San Fransisco so they obviously can't help me so I should call my service provider!

Cheers,
Stu.
