Hi All,

Nice forum, learned alot just browsing thru the threads ...

Have a question about a Zire 72 and V3 mobile phone. I have them set up and they work perfectly together. No issues there at all. Only wish I could connect two bluetooth devices to the phone at the same time. But thats a differant issue.

What I would like to do is be able to HotSync to my PC at home over the internet. I just can't figure out the set up. Seems like it would work. Is this in fact possible using just the Zire and V3?

If it is I would really appriciate knowing how ...

Thanks for a great forum and any information,

Dean

Welcome to Geekzone...

Yes, it can be done, and it's called Network HotSync. I am not sure if this is available with the Zire 72, as Palm have removed this feature from some models.

On your Palm, tap on Hotsync menu and if it show Network Hotsync (or similar) you should be ok to go.

The main problem is how you access your computer at home - the Palm needs to find it and the only way is if you either use a static IP address or use a dynamic resolution service. you can create a free account with Dyndns and run a small program on your computer that will update the DNS servers with your new IP address every time it changes. Then you can use a name to find your computer at home.
