Hi guys,

I seem to recall someone mentioning that using non-iMate batteries will void the warranty? Is this correct?

If not, has anyone found and/or used a higher capacity battery that will work with this model?

there are plenty of aftermarket batteries around, most manufacturers have a warranty clause that excludes the use of aftermarket accessories that connect to the devices electronics/power at all.

Do you need a replacement battery or a spare battery? If you are having trouble with your existing one, it may still be under warranty?

I have never had trouble with aftermarket gear for phones/ipaqs/ipods, but your mileage may vary.

Thanks for that. I don't have any problems with the current battery - just thought it would be nice to have a higher capacity, longer-lasting operational time, etc.

I had a look around trademe to see if there are any aftermarket batteries for this unit but couldn't find one. Any ideas where I can look for bigger batteries?

"NOTE: i-mate™ only support i-mate™ approved batteries and accessories. Do not use non i-mate™ batteries and accessories. Using a non i-mate™ battery will void the device warranty. Opening of the device casing and 3rd party RAM upgrades will also void the warranty."

Having said that I have also been looking and have seen 1900mAh advertised on overseas sites http://www.mphone.co.uk/acatalog/pda2k-battery-ext.html Shipping can be pricey though- this site uses FedEx. Haven't seen anything in NZ other than the standard 1500mAh but there might be something in Aussie, maybe through O2 that will be cheaper.
