My partner was given a HTC Snap for work today which she really likes, but she would like to know how to download all emails from the exchange server, currently it seems that the phone is only downloading new emails. Is it possible to download all her emails and if so, where do you change the setting in the phone. We can't find anything in the manual.

Remember there will be a memory limit so you might not want to do this if it's a large mailbox. Open ActiveSync, click Menu | Options scroll down to email, click Settings and set "Download the past" to the number you want.

Also, make sure she is on a large data plan. Smile

Her data is paid for by her work, so I don't think she will worry too much.

Sheesh I'd be careful with this one. How big is her Exchange Mailbox? You might end up using all the memory on your phone in a single hit. :)

Tuataras were once feared by Māori as the messengers of Whiro, god of death and disaster.  Today, tuataras are regarded as a taonga (treasure), and as the kaitiaki (guardian) of the trails to the realms of the mind and spirit that give humans life.

Surely that's overkill? Is she downloading just the headers or perhaps only the text?

I hope she works for a very large business that can afford such extravagance. I hope she's not working for a small struggling family run business or some such. Does her employer know?

I have my mobile devices set to download the previous two weeks only. That's more than enough to keep tabs on current activities - and my Inbox doesn't even have that old emails anyway, everything is archived...
