Hi All,

I have a big favor to ask regarding Nokia E71 setup.

Currently I am using a Paradise account with Microsoft Outlook and I have set up email on my handsert using Nokia email messaging so that when my Outlook is open my emails go to Outlook but when my Outlook is closed I get the emails on my handset which works great.

The issue I have is when I open my Outlook again it moves all the email in my inbox on the handset off it and I want the messages to stay there. I know you can leave a copy on the server which will allow me to have the messages stay on my handset but then I will be getting every email on both Outlook and Handset and will quick use up my data plan.

Is there any way that I can have it so when the messages go to my handset they stay on there.

Any help would be great.

If you want email on two devices at once you really need to be using the IMAP protocol. Paradise don't support this so there unfortunately isn't a lot you can do

Cheers for the quick posts guys, They don't want to have it on both devices at "once" they just want the messages that come to the handset to stay on the handset. I'm not sure if thats the same thing as you mentioned.

As for leave a message on the server they don't want to do this as then all the messages would be coming through on the handset and using up the data plan. I know I know its being fussy and I have tried to explain this to them.

Any other ideas?

The best idea would be to get your own domain name which is the most logical thing to do these days anyway as you no longer rely on your ISP for email, move that to Google Apps and use IMAP on your phone.

You could also move your email to a provider than does hosted Microsoft Exchange and get even more benefits.

I use my Nokia E71 with Google Apps (IMAP) over Vodafone and it works like a champ.

As others have said it's a provider limitation.

You could have your @paradise emails forwarded to a Gmail account until you find a solution that works better for you.

On the Hosted Exchange note, Google provides this service (for both @gmail.com accounts and domain accounts). ISP-provided email accounts are a thing of the past, all the advice provided here is the way to go.
