heya I am looking for a PDA under $900 that allows me to gain access to the internet and also has MP3 player built in and stores photo's, videos etc, I also want to purchase this phone from a store which will be around the Wellington region as I don't have a credit card.

The TNZ Apache will be the cheaper Windows Mobile Pocket PC Phone Edition, if I read their prices correctly (about NZ$1199 at this time). It will be a couple of hundred dollars over your budget though, but they go down in price if you enter in a plan/contract - down to NZ$395 on a 36 month term.

Then there is the i-mate KJam (on Vodafone), which will be some NZ$600 over your budget (when I wrote this reply it was priced at NZ$1599).

Pocket PC Phone Edition devices are more expensive than Pocket PC devices because the phone part (mainly the radio).

I found the HP Ipaq rx3715 to be a great PDA. WiFi, Bluthooth SD slot - I think they go for $600-700 these days. Good screen and 1.3mp camera which can also take video. Great sound quality from the headphones and the built in specker is pretty good too.

I had one up untill I got my Apache which is the only reason I got rid of it.

Mauricio made this blog entry about the Dell X51v...

There is a deal at Dell where they throw in a 1Gb SD card. The prices range from $649 to $799.

A few weeks ago we had a 30% discount code for a week, valid for all Dell Axim in the Dell NZ website. It's gone now, but we are working to get something back - perhaps not in your timeframe though.

But you have to keep an eye in our promotion articles - or add our RSS feed to your reader...

Tell them that you are asserting your right to be a Geek, and that the commissioner for human rights looks poorly upon those who discriminate...
