I am rubbish with this thing and need to know exactly how to update tom tom from a version about 3 years old. Also if there is anyway of emailing my diary that is on outlook 2002 through the Mda compact to an email address automatically each day???????

Can anyone help a novice?

You just need the updated Tom Tom software. When installing it will automatically detect the older version and install over it.

The best option though is to first uninstall the older version and then install the new one.

As for the e-mail notifications, I just saw a service like this a couple of days ago. You might want to search via Google though (or if someone else knows, please post here).

wow that was quick. Firstly I need to point out I am a total novice and need easy instructions. How do I get an updated version of tom tom u k maps than download it all to my MDA compact?

Also what would I search for on google

That's because it's early here in New Zealand - just checking my daily e-mails...

Anyway you have to contact Tom Tom to get an update - it may have a cost involved, in general companies provide a free upgrade from a single version update, but it looks like your may be more than one because of the three years.

For the calendar notification via e-mail, look for "calendar email notification" on Google.

I HAVE NOW LOST THE TOM TOM LAUNCH FILE FOR THE MDA FRONT PAGE, ANY IDEAS ANYONE? THIS WAS AFTER DOING A HARD RESET OF PHONE.

When a hard reset is performed the Pocket PC is restored to the original settings -i.e everything is cleared from its memory and the OS is resintalled for initial use. After a hard reset you need to reinstall any third party programs.

If you have Tom Tom already on your PC simply connect the Pocket PC, open ActiveSync on the computer and click on Tools | Add/Remove Programs. Select the program you want to install and check the box, then click Ok.

If you don't have the program in the list then you have to run the installation file again on your computer, while your Pocket PC is connected.
