The current crop of phones are all pretty good and seem to overlap in some feature areas.

The OS is a v1.0 product so it is missing some features that other OSes have had for a while now.  For some people this is a deal-breaker.  However when you consider that Microsoft did an about-face a year or so ago and came up with WP7, I think that speaks volumes for their determination to get the platform up to par with the competition.

The app marketplace is growing steadily and the fact that anyone with a decent Windows PC can download the tools for free and develop an app, is pretty awesome.

If I had the readies, I'd be getting one myself (I have an iPhone 3GS now), but for now I will just have to hope my work buys one. Smile

I have had a look at some of the pre-release modals and the trophy that is out here on VF. Not that impressed myself. I think its a bit like Android where getting the right synegy between the hardware and software and making it all work as a rounded package is going to be hard.

If you want an easy\great UI and lots of apps I personally think at this stage iphone is ahead. That may change of course when we see more WM7 devices in the NZ market.

disclaimer - I currently use an iphone 4 which was upgraded from 3GS. Before that I used Windows based phones for about 5-6 years.
