Wondering if anyone knows how to remove the system tray in WM5 or for that matter make better use of it.

I have a K-Jam & am looking to get as much of the today screen viewable as possible. The system tray on my K-Jam is only displaying the comms icon status/link which repeats functionality that I already have elsewhere & takes up too much prime real estate on my today screen. Any Ideas ?
