under the Palm desktop you have fieldsfor more than one mobile phonenumber, under Outlook that does not exist. A second Mobile number would be saved as a Work number is there a of creating This additional field in outlook? or to make the two software fields match each other exactly?

I think your are stuck with that if you use the standard Hotsync conduit. However with PocketMirror (which should have a free copy on your Palm CD) you should be able to map different fields.

You should be using either Palm Dekstop OR Microsoft Outlook to sync with your handheld - it doesn't make sense to use both. With Outlook you can create tailored fields and these should copy across to teh PAlm as it can also create custom fields. Their is also Business Contacts for Microsoft Outlook that offers better synching btw extended fields btw Outlook and Palm.

Thanks for your views. The idea of creating fields makes sense to me. I have tried this on outlook but nothing happened. i created a field which i called mobile 1 to accomodate a lot of my contacts who have more than one mobile phone. After this when i went to enter i knew contact i did not see the field that i had just created. Can anyone please advise how this can be done?

The other related issue is that have installed outlook on a new computer and in downloading emails i see that it is downloading emails from months back and because they are so many (about 695) whenever i log off and get back to outlook the process starts all over again. Hence some emails have been downloaded about 3 times. How do i stop this?
