Hi

I am a Treo650 user.
I was wondering if anyone is using their Palm as a GPS unit in NZ.  I was hoping to buy a GPS receiver unit with bluetooth and a GPS software for palm (such as Tom Tom 6)
but it seems as though mapping software is not available in NZ unless you want to purchase from eg. Garmin which almost costs more than the GPS unit/software.
I also looked at SDIO options - plenty available for pocket PC but none seems to exist for Palm.

Any suggestions???

The main problem is that there isn't any decent GPS Software with NZ Maps for NZ for Palm. There is Handmap (www.handmap.net) but the maps just aren't up to the quality you would expect, like the Navmans and Garmins etc. In terms of SDIO cards, there is one out there for PAlm, but the developers only sell the license for the drivers to a limited few, and anyway the look to bulky and pop out to easily of the springloaded slot.
The Globalsat BT receivers I have tried are brilliant, I've tried them with the Intelligolf software, but again with no decent Palm maps for NZ their use is pretty limited. When TomTom advances across the Tasman, you may then see them launch NZ maps for their Palm software, but they havent done so for Aus yet, in the mean time have stuck with the all in one units.
