Hi, I recently bought a Jamin, love it, BUT. If I have an SD card inserted it will soft reset itself every couple of hours or so.

I originally had a 4GB IPQ card when it first happened.  Thought it was the phone so got a new one, second phone did exactly the same so I got a third phone.  (Ascent technology were very helpful.)  Same thing happened, I then realised it only did this with the card in. I tried changing to a 4GB A-Data card but same.  I then changed to a 2 GD A-data, same.  I removed the anti virus software and reformatted to Fat 32 but, you guessed it, still the same problem.

The Rom version is 2.13.9.23 wwe and extRom is 1.0.9.114 which seem to be the latest ones on the i-mate website.

I am completely out of ideas.  Has this happened to anyone else and does anyone have any suggestions on what to try next?

Thanks in advance.

Matt

Welcome to Geekzone... What kind of files do you have installed on this card? Data, music, programs? If you have programs, are there any that remain open when the Pocket PC goes to sleep? Are there any with a Today plugin? If yes, those should be running from the main memory.

You could try using Trancreative MagicButton to actually close programs and see if not having any running program will minimise this problem - or eliminate it.

Sorry I should have said at the beginning.  I have tried it with no information on a freshly formatted card and it still does the same thing.

The other particularly annoying thing is that when it starts up after it's self reset it never detcts the phone network and I have to restart that through the Comms Manager.

I was wondering if it might be a ROM issue, which ROm do you use<

Cheers Matt

Are you able to hard reset the device and start fresh? This is the best thing to do - since there's the network problem as well I don't think it's a hardware problem anymore. I suspect a corrupt configuration or something similar.

If you can, try running the Clear Storage program.

I ran clear storage but still had the problem.

I downloaded the latest rom and although it left my rom unchanged it updated my extROM and this seems to have fix everything.

Thanks for you assistance
