Picked up one yesterday. Certainly like the size. Unfortunately my TV supports the 4K but not HDR. But still happy enough with it. 

Do notice fan makes quite a loud ticking kind of noise when console on. Anyone else got this, just not sure if its normal. Mainly when watching Netflix etc can hear it over voices and unless loud scene can here in background.

Why do they insist on selling the 500Gb version? Ours is a 500gb version and we promptly ran out of disk space after installing a few (<6) games. Xbox one games are so much bigger than 360 (naturally).

Surely this is a defect? Have you tried having it replaced?

I am looking at finally getting myself an Xbox One S, now that the smaller 500GB models are out (and I can get a free game)
I see mention that the 2TB model comes with a stand, while the smaller models do not. I plan to have the unit "sandwiched" in between a wall and part of my computer desk where the Xbox 360 is - so do not think I require the stand but could be wrong.

Yes, for a maximum of 3 HDD's on it, and with a 2TB WD red in a decent case it is actually faster than the internal one to load stuff. Some people have used SSD's on USB 3 to get even better load times

Yes - I currently have a 1TB SSD external and a 1TB standard HD attached as external storage, giving me 2.5 T total on my original launch day Xbox One :)

I purchased one today - 500GB XB1 Slim, with Halo 5 + Master Chief + Doom for $499

Added in a Play and Charge kit for $38

Been looking around the Microsoft store for game downloads, seems there are about 4 or 5 different Microsoft stores, all with different options and prices to download games.
Are there any better alternatives out there to get digital games? (Rather have digital than disc, but in all the examples I found today it was cheaper for me to get a disc version than download)

Often when things get to the clearance shelf then the physical is cheaper than a digital, and on new stuff there can be discounts that make it that way, but if you use the right stores then it will be cheaper in digital most of the time, and that means no stuffing about with discs.

I actually have many games in both, since I got it on digital, and then saw it with the pretty box etc for $15-20 at a later stage so got that so I have something to fill the shelf with.

How do you switch regions - I thought you could only swap once or twice every 6 months?

Thats account regions you can only change once every few months, you can buy from other stores, as long as you have a valid payment method, and billing address attached to said store for said country, so eg if you were going to buy from the US, you would need a US paypal, or credit card, with a US billing address, the games are region free. NZ card wont work with a US purchase.
