I haven't caught up with all the news this morning, but the Legendary Beasts are coming to certain areas of the world and then rotated

Several months ago I joined a local raid chat group, and from that joined a raid chat for my town (part of Dunedin, but not ..)
I already knew a family from that group and during the frequent raids established "gym etiquette" for when we take down gyms in the town - general rules were to ask if anyone needs kicked out to get coins for the day and not to kick people out if they had not been in the gym for less than four hours.

Until this week, the rules worked well, but then I noticed I was being kicked out of gyms I had only just put a Pokemon in ... searching GymHunter I found it was the family
On Wednesday I was asked to kick several people from gyms - and did. Less than 1/2 hour later I was kicked from those gyms and found out it was the family
Last night - same situation, asked if anyone wanted coins, and assisted. Kicked out again 1/2 hour later by the family - leaving me with no gyms for today

As a result, I left the chat group ... not sure if I a) leave the family alone to rot in gyms and never get coins or b) target them hard with no remorse

That's so annoying! Someone in my group asked if I'd kick them out of a gym, so I did, and then they took it back an hour later. Now, if anyone asks, I tell them no problem, as long as they are willing to leave me in for the next 8 hours. If it were me, I'd kick them out of gyms right away so they could feel what it was like to be on the receiving end, but that might not be the most diplomatic solution, lol.

After being kicked out of gyms 30 minutes after I had taken them on Saturday and Sunday; I went out last night and took them out of most of the gyms they had control off.
However at the final gym I got into a "Golden Razz" war on a Blissey, so gave up and let them have the victory.

I was trying to figure out of letting them have all the gyms was the answer and then hope no one kicks them out, as I was able to get enough gyms outside of home to ensure my coins for the day

On other news, I did 11 Suicune raids over the weekend, capturing 5 of them (including one via critical catch)
My best was 84% IV, so before I head over to Japan, I'll be looking for a better one (via free raid passes only)

Leaving them in the gym does depend greatly on nobody else taking them down - I think you did the right thing :)

I did five Suicune raids on Saturday and astonished myself by catching all five (one was also a critical catch). Three of them had water hidden power, too. I'm going to ease off a bit now, or my storage will be at crisis point by the end of the month. So far I haven't been able to bring myself to transfer a legendary, but it might happen soon! I'm off to the GC for a couple of weeks in the near future, so I joined their PoGo Facebook page and asked for invites to local chat groups. The Anzac spirit appears to be alive and well because I got invited to three, so I'm looking forward to catching some Aussie legendaries soon.

I ventured back into the chat again after being re-invited in
I expressed interest in joining a raid, and it sounded like it wasn't going to happen due to a lack of people. The call went out for more and thats when I found out it was no longer an Instinct gym; as I would be playing with mostly Valor members the lack of premier balls to catch the raid boss was going to be an issue (since the gym control glitch has been fixed) I said that it may not be worth joining the raid because I was the sole Instinct members and needed all the premier balls I can get.

That is when I started getting trash talked by someone else in the group...
So this morning I left the chat again and will never venture back in again.

So my new strategy - sold raids during the week, group raids in the weekend

I haven't even raided since Saturday. I really wish they'd rotate the existing L1-4 bosses. I'm getting bored of the current ones and I can't get together a big enough group to do Venusaur or Rhydon, despite the fact that Venusaur is very handy against Suicune and Rhydon will be the #1 choice for Raikou. I'd love to do some Houndoom or Cloyster raids.

That's pretty rubbish really.

The raid chat in Upper Hutt is really awesome.  Doesn't matter which team you're in, we all work together on the raids, even to the degree of splitting the group if we have sufficient numbers so that teams get the best chances for extra balls.  Not to mention people who already have "plenty" of whatever the raid target is still turning up to help out those who are yet to capture one.  Yeah, we have a bit of good natured banter, but it's only ever good natured.
At the end of the day, it is "only" a game.  :-/

We've had a few incidents in our wider group - mainly a couple of people who can't control their emotions and are far too invested in the game. One went on an expletive-filled rant after he was late to a raid and missed out (even after we'd just explicitly set a rule that raids were to start at the advertised time, and he hadn't let anyone know he was running late). Another has had a few tantrums when nobody showed up to raids she's tried to organise, and accused people of freezing her out. Which of course became a self-fulfilling prophecy, lol. Most people deal with it pretty good-naturedly, thank goodness. The main core group has formed a separate chat where we can talk about how we moderate the big group, but it's also turned into a lovely general chat for people who are becoming good friends, which is nice.

Thankfully I haven't had any issues like this in the bigger/larger Dunedin raid chat group, or even the general chat group ...

Went out and managed to get a large enough group to do a Suicune at lunch; managed to catch with another critical catch (which has made me wonder if critical catch rates have gone up?). However it was another poor IV specimen so will eventually be sent back to the Professor for candy.

Over the weekend I did trash a few poor IV Legendaries, however as I have decided that 3 of each is a good number (that is if I have managed to catch 3), I have a dilemma of throwing out 82%+ IV Pokemon as I have several more than I require. I got around this dilemma with Lapras/Snorlax/Tyranitar by using them as gym defenders (which in turn = berry feeders), but as Legendaries can't be put into gyms, this is not an option

I was hoping to be able to trade a few for regional exclusives, but who knows if that feature will ever come out? When Gen3 pops, if they don't raise the Pokemon storage limit, I will have to get ruthless and chop a few. All of my birds bar Lugia are in double figures right now, and I think I have nine or ten Tyranitars and about twelve Machamps. The most you really need of anything is six, for a raid team, but even then, I prefer to go in with a selection to make it more interesting. I'd be tempted to keep more where different moveset combos were equally useful depending on opponent (like Stone Edge Tyranitars and Crunch Tyranitars).

^ I got ruthless several months ago (you can probably look back several pages to see when I did it, as I probably mentioned it back then)

However even with that purge, there are several "families" I am unsure what to do with and how to manage, and there are also what a lot of Gen 4 preparation as well taking up storage

My main problem when it comes to storage is the Pikachu collection. Normal ones in both genders, hatted ones (some also both genders) and the associated Raichus. Again, I'm holding on to a few in case trading comes in. I'm at about 850/1000 (although it goes up when I'm hoarding trash Pokemon for an evolution session) but I could probably shed up to 100 more if I were strict with myself.

The inability to do anything at gyms you have previously raided at is doing my head in; yesterday I did a raid across the road from work
90 minutes later after the raid had finished I tried to take down the gym - one battle in, I was then kicked out with Network Error (2); as soon as this happens the only thing you can do is to quit the game as you can no longer interact with anything (gyms, stops, Pokemon).

This morning I tried to feed some surplus berries to the Pokemon in the gym (it was my team colour, but full) - first berry was ok, then Network Error (2). Again only option was to quit the game and walk away.

Agreed, highly frustrating.  I did a raid two days ago in the early evening, then attempted to take the gym down several hours later.  Took half an hour of fighting not only the residents but network errors to get it.  Yesterday morning was only a few network errors.  In the evening it was ok again.
Clearly it has nothing to do with the network.  All to do with the gym interactions.

I noticed last night that a large portion of Mosgiel was Instinct (my colour) and by the end of the evening remained yellow.
Either the Valor family I have been having troubles with were busy, have reached gold on all the gyms and don't need to compete or ignored them because I was also ignoring gyms from yesterday until I come back from overseas.

22.5 hours after I had raided at the gym across from work, I was able to interact with the gym again
However in that process found another bug - feed a berry, while at the same time collecting items from the photodisc with GoPlus - the game became unresponsive, and my only option was to quite
