Hello everyone.

Months ago my PS4 started ejecting Watch Dogs from my console. I thought maybe it was just the disc, didn't think much of it until it continually done it. I looked it up online and there were people saying all over the place that discs were ejecting.

There are "fixes" for it, and they do work for the time being (At least that I can recall) however the disc kept ejecting by themselves months, weeks and sometimes days later.

Anyway months later the same problem happened still with Watch Dogs, then with Far Cry 4. I just put my PS4 on for the first time in 2 weeks, loaded up Far cry 4 and within 10 minutes the disc ejected. Put it back in a minute later, got to the loading screen and ejected itself.

I just turned it off now, like I do every time this happens. I don't get on m PS4 much because of this.

Anyway, I bought it on release day from the Warehouse, so around 14-15 months ago. I didn't buy a warranty or anything, but I am hoping it isn't too late to take it back and hopefully get it repaired or better yet a brand new console.

Isnt there something in the CGA that says goods must be fit for use for a certain amount of time, or something like that?

Thanks for all the help. If somebody knows how to fix this problem 100% guaranteed then please let me know, I would rather that than the whole hassle of taking it in.

TLDR: My PS4 keeps ejecting discs, it has for months. I bought my PS4 15 months ago with no warranty, is it too late to take it back?

Finch: I mentioned that I should be covered under the CGA yes, however the Warehouse doesn't seem to want to accept that.

They don't have to accept anything. It's the law, they have to do it. And because they're the retailers THEY have to deal with Sony, not you.

And as mentioned, trying to get out of it is illegal. Take them to Disputes Tribunal and be done with it.

OP, the way to move this along is speak to the consumer people. They have an email address. Send an email to the warehouse showing them the part of the act quoted to you above, saying you they are both not meeting their obligations and deliberately in breach of the act for misrepresentation, cc the consumer people and make sure it's obvious, and give them 5 days to comply or you will open a DT case.

This will resolve your issue I can assure you.

Alright guys.

So I got the call around 10:30am from the Customer Service Team leader, she said alright lets get this sorted. She asked what I wanted to happen, I told her in all honesty I just want a refund now. She had to make a call to somebody else and rung me back around 1 hour later saying they cannot do a refund because it was a bundle deal, however they will give me a brand new console. I accepted, I am happy with that result.

Overall she was very friendly, mentioned this isn't how we want our customers to be treated. I asked her if she thought I was right and that I was covered under the CGA, she said yes it probably shouldn't of got this far, however they judge everything on a case by case basis. She also said the $315 repair fee I was quoted seemed on the high side, and that the Warehouse/Sony probably need to evaluate the repair costs.

She said a few more things but overall she was friendly and seemed like she wanted to help. I am happy with the outcome.

I will go and get my new console tomorrow.
