So the Steam Summer Sale has started - some good deals going!

Interesting to note that Skyrim is more expensive in US than NZ (wait what?) at $35 for them and $30 for us, Legendary Edition (for the next 2 hours).

Not sure what all this "Trading Card" stuff is about though... doesn't seem to be any real benefit to trying to collect them.

This is a great subreddit I check every day, this usually has deals  better than steam (usually from Green Man Gaming, Amazon etc)

So check here before buying anything...

collect cards to make a set,

combine set to make a badge (which consumes cards) - gains XP on your steam profile, allows you to display badge on your profile.

XP gives you levels on your steam profile.

levels let you show off.

you can also trade or sell your cards (for very little)

Publisher's set the price and some publisher's are dicks, re: regional distribution.

Value always prices their own games the same across regions, other publishers eg: Bethesda don't.

I think I also remember reading that some complete sets have a chance to get discount vouchers

Agreed. Looks like another sale where I won't be getting a few of games I would have otherwise. Bioshock Infinite and Civ 5 gold edition - 2K Games you suck with this regional pricing nonsense...

Ah well, saints row the third is not regionally priced and looks like it could be fun. Will see if walking dead comes up too.

Thanks for the heads up OP.

My bank account has gotten significantly lighter over the last few days. I even purchased a new 1TB HDD just in case ;)
