Looking at this TV as a monitor for my PC, I mainly play Battlefield 4 on my PC and watch movies and series, so wondering if this would be fine for that?

LG 40UB800T 40" 4K 100mHZ Smart LED TV , 3840 x 2160 , WiDi & MHL

If you can put up with the input lag from the tv and turn off all the image enhancements etc it will be ok, not as good as a dedicated monitor.

You also need a seriously good pc to drive a 4k screen, especially for something like BF4.

Yeah thanks, input lag won't do, looking at one of the following now instead:

I would go with the Asus of those choices, though the Samsung is nearly as good. A single GTX980 won't sustain >60FPS at 4k with detail settings up, but it will probably average about that, in BF4 at least.

What is your reasoning for going with the Asus?

I wonder if the price of this can be justified: http://www.pbtech.co.nz/index.php?z=p&p=MONAS65134&name=Asus-PG278Q------The-world-s-first-WQHD-G-SYNC-mon

I just find the image quality in terms of colours, and the responsiveness, marginally better, and it seems to scale better for non-native resolutions and is a bit more adjustable in terms of height and tilt. The Samsung does look more stylish, though, in terms of it's physical design. I have the PB287Q and the U28D590 side-by-side on separate machines, both using GTX660Ti's. They are used more for media & design these days than gaming (hence still being only 660Tis), though. That said, both are great, I just feel if I were only going to have one, or were in a position to re-buy given my use of them, I'd go with both Asus. I am not disappointed in the Samsung at all, though, as I pay about $150 less for it than I did the Asus.
