Anyone else playing Trackmania Nations Forever online ?? (Free)

Download here : http://www.iconzarena.co.nz/downloaditem.aspx?did=622

I installed it last night, and had a ball online. I had played one of the earlier versions over a LAN and its always a laugh, so getting a free internet version is even better :)

ICONZ are running a server so pings etc are nice and low not that it matters with this sort of game anyway.

Anyway if you are playing, add me to your friends list :  xpdnz    (Screen name : XPD^)

Enjoy!!

The free version is a demo.

The full version has single player challange and ranking. Also has many more multiplayer modes and can play against the free version.
With the full version people can see your skins.

Nope, Trackmania Nations Forever is a full release, with all those things you have mentioned.
Currently Im about 300000th in the world (from 900000) and last I looked about 500th in NZ from 1500. So Im ticking along Laughing

Me too!

I had played Trackmania Nations before, and quit for some strange reason.

When I saw the new Trackmania Nations Forever was out I downloaded right away! I did some single player tracks and got up to being 30th in New Zealand. But when I checked my ranking the next day I was all of a sudden 200th! It's become quite popular now, mostly thanks to the distrubution over Steam. The old Trackmania Nations wasn't as popular, and would have been if it was distributed the same way.

Great game anyway. Trackmania United is probably better but it aint free :D

While the free version lets you use skins no one else can see them when you play online.
The retail edtion also has 3 other environments (Desert, Snow and Rally) not just stadium. You can also race offical times for your country and gain coins to spend. These can be spent on re-trying offical times or on other stuff.

Trackmania United Forever offers alot more than whats in Trackmania Nations Forever.

But thats because its a differen't game which costs alot more. Trackmania Nations Forever offers alot more than the old Trackmania Nations offers as well.

Unfortunately Im not playing it much now :(
It uses 10mb of traffic per round, which eats into data pretty quick....  unless Xnet get a local server :)

Hooray, playing again thanks to the partnership with Gameplanet. Pity I seem to be the only one playing on their servers though. Oh well..........
