I am trying to get Gamestream set up to use on my Shield TV.

When I open the app on the Shield and go to Settings, Gamestream, Get Started, it just says "Login Failed, Unable to log you in at the moment"

I'm supposed to respect my elders, but it's getting harder and harder for me to find one now.

To clarify, are you trying to stream games from your PC or to stream games from NVidia.

From my pc. I found out what was causing the initial problem, I had my PIA turned on. Once I switched that off I was able to connect. However, although the game (Fortnite) loads it will not connect to a server, says There was a problem, restart your clienr, Error 0.

When I go to the settings for Geforce Now on the Shield TV and test the network it says streaming is not supported because the ping is 172 and needs to be <80.

That ping sounds excessively high for a home network, you're not using wifi anywhere in the mix are you?

Ive got a shield tv as well and have no issues using gamestream from my pc, ive also streamed from nvidia as well and that worked fine for me.

The PC is on wifi and the game runs fine on it. The Shield is on ethernet.

Yeah lose the wifi, its really not suitable for gamestreaming.

You have to remember that first your PC needs to communicate over wifi for the game and then send all that encoded data to the shield tv.

Geforce Now is not what you're using - that's Nvidia's cloud gaming platform. With that, the games run on remote servers and are streamed to your shield. With Gamestream, they run on your PC and are streamed to your shield.

Sorry I can't help with your issue, but don't try to use Now, it isn't what you want.
