If anyones interested in following my slow refresh of an arcade machine I got for Xmas, feel free to take a look at the pics here - website coming back online soon and I'll try to remember to detail things as I go :)

Will be taking my time with it, want it to look good and last :)

Cool! What's the end result him to be? A single jamma game? Pi or PC running mame? Pandora's box?

I've done a few cabinet mods. Recently converted an arcade1up to a Pandora's box. Also modded the machine at work (purchased from spacies.co.nz) with zero delay encoders, new sticks etc.

Its running an i-Cade Jamma system at the moment (60 games), so will leave it on that for now, and if it dies then I'll swap out the screen and throw a Pi inside.

Current screen is vertical and correct aspect etc for all the classic shoot 'em ups etc which the board has :)

Has single speaker in the cabinet at a low volume, so want to turn that up and prob add a second speaker just to give it a bit more sound if I can.

Stripping the whole unit down at the moment to clean it all up properly and get my electrical engineer mate to give the board a going over to ensure no dodgy caps etc.

Will be a long and hopefully fun and rewarding process ;)

You couldn't use the same screen with a VGA adaptor on the pi? or is it arcade VGA?

Is original arcade CRT (CGA ?) - there are various adaptors out there but to keep it original, will leave as is for now, it works and I dont want to break anything trying to make it modern :)

Thats pretty cool, I'm just in the process of gathering all the parts to make a cheap Bartop Arcade.

That was my original plan as well, had spare screens, Pi/PC etc but never got off the ground really apart from getting RetoPi running and letting the kids play Donkey kong :)

But when I heard this was needing a home...... :)
