Hi GZers,

I'm a long time lurker first time poster.

I've been hearing good things about the new "Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout" craze so thought I'd check it out. I purchased on steam and the game loads up fine, but I've never once gotten past the "looking for players" screen. My character is forever falling with no other feedback (nothing ever coming up about numbers of players, and no connection timeout error), even after multiple restarts and waiting for a while in between.

I do know that there are known issues with the servers being overloaded etc. And there are status pages to check. At the moment it seems that the servers should be up and running.

Was curious of the experiences of other people in NZ playing this game, can't find much chatter about it in forums etc. Hard to know if it is a problem my end or what.

I have restarted my PC, and my router etc. No difference. I'm on 2D 100/20 fibre, using Google wifi mesh. All other internet connectivity seems fine.

Maybe I just need to be more patient. Will try again in a few hours.

I've never had that happen to me - could be that it's trying to find Oceania servers/players and the times you've been trying have been times when there aren't people online?

Thanks for the response Tzoi.

I tried it again just now and still no dice.

Is rather frustrating to pay $25 for a game that it won't let me play, would at least like to play a round to see what it is like. Worst case I suppose I can request a refund on steam. I'd rather let them have my money and be able to enjoy the game.

Just started playing it this week on the PS4. Not had any issue looking for players.

Good fun game that's easy to pick up and just have a 15 to 30 blast at. Still not won at it yet. Mr11 has though.

Hmmm, I'm starting to think it's just me with the problem.

Is it normal that I should need to look into networking issues with a game like this? Have never had an issue with other internet services, for the most part it "just works".

Not running a VPN or anything are you? I have a pihole that has blocked some games so had to allow list a couple of things.

It's not just you - my son was playing it on PC last night with no issues waiting on players but this morning he too timed out without a match.

No VPN or anything exotic like that.

Thanks for the info, good to know its not just me. I found a recent post on the steam forums that gave me some hope - something about all aus/asian users being accidentally banned, and because its Friday night in the US the devs haven't yet noticed or can't be bothered fixing.

Will try again later tonight/tomorrow.

I managed to get into a game just now so not sure if it's specific to certain people or not

Thanks Tzoi. Just tried it now and it worked! So was just an outage after all.
