Has there been any more news on when playTv for the PS3 will be available in NZ, all google searches show results from the middle of last year.

I read an article this week and it said that playtv was supose to do HD but it was not playing HD so customers (in america) were not happy. If I remember they said they are getting people to return them so they can be upgraded or something. So delays are likely. Will try and find the link.

Last I heard from a fairly good source it was still work in progress but a Q1 2009 launch was possible. Sony have a lot to do including implimenting DRM restrictions and fully supporting the MHEG5 used in NZ.

Playtv hasnt been release in the U.S, dont even think using an imported one would even work due to PAL/NTSC.

Not quite. ATSC Vs the NZ DTT standard. An Aust one won't even work here..
