hey guys,

im after a bit of help. when going through the phone option to Multiplayer, i dont have an option for a ranked match...and im not able to join anyone else's match, im only able to start my own...which means i have sit there for AGES b4 someone joins....

any help would be appreciated as getting the trophies is hard when u cant play anyone :P

Maybe you need particular ports open for the game to work online and its not letting you join a game because it cant find the ports open..... I havent had a look at GTA4 myself so not certain but its a possibility.

on ps3.

when i select "Multiplayer", the only option I have is "Games". When I select this, I can then only select Quick Match or Custom match. Then I have an option to select what type of match it is, ie. Race, Deathmatch, etc. and then it just opens a game that im hosting...no lobby or anything.

Going to "Quick Match" and then selecting a game type will take u into a game with other people without having to host yourself, thats what i usually do every time i play online and i managed to make it to 40th in the world for deathmatch

I believe all games are ranked, or atleast count towards the online ranking at the rockstar social club.

As far as i know (but correct me if im wrong) theres no screen with a list of servers/current games like it sounds like your looknig for as there would be with most online computer games. try the quick match option, once it loads into game lobby check the settings and if you dont like them then press [select] and select the game type and try your luck again.
