http://www.ea.com/1/beta

I wasn't even going to get Medal of Honor LE, but apparently if you own it you'll get an invitation to the Battlefied 3 Beta. I'm so looking forward to BF3 that I'm seriously considering it...

Anybody else?

Nope.

I'm over EA/Dice.

From a PC users perspective:

BFBC2 is rubbish now that they can't figure out how to patch the game anymore because of the Frostbite engine which was developed for consoles. You can't tell me that a game where you can aim in front of or behind someone will kill them is actually coded properly.

MoH looks and feels like it was coded by 12 year olds

BF3 will be yet another incomplete game from a franchise which needs to die already and/or use an engine that was actually designed for PC's not ported from consoles.

Oh, I have to agree with you somewhat. I didn't want anything to do with Bad Company at all, in fact I've only ever played BF1942+Desert Combat and BF2. I'm sort of hoping that they will do the right thing, make this a proper PC game and if the consoles get it too, then they can get some cut down version. If PC BF3 is limited in any way because of the consoles, then yes kill it now - because to me, BF is a game much larger than the sum of its parts. MoH, I see it as a fee for getting into the Beta, I might even play the game after I buy it.

BC2 is a great game. But because of whats mentioned above with the engine problems, it just got too frustrating to play.

This is why i like engines like Source, while people do have criticisms of them, every single source game i own i have never had any major problems with them.

Is BFBC2 really that bad on PC? That sucks. Lag is the killer on 360. (At times 4-5 seconds - I kid you not!)
I only play CS:S on pc these days as my wife is addicted to the likes of AoE, Sims, Civ, EE2 etc which means my time with the pc is near non-existent.
I don't understand why developers can't do games properly for each platform. At the moment most games are "average to poor" across all platforms as they make compromises for everything to suit all platforms.
One advantage of exclusive titles sometimes.

But BF3 Beta will be like MoH beta if history is anything to go by...

I played BFBC2 for a long time and it did have some major issues initially but I have not had any issues with it for a long time. As for games designed for consoles and then ported to PC well it sounds like they are doing it right with BF3. PC is getting full graphics and they are then cutting the graphics down for the consoles.
Personally I will be preordering and getting on release day. This game seems to have a lot of promise and I have certainly loved some of the past titles.

Pre ordering it through origin gets you just that, 48hours early access. It is going to be an open beta, so anyone can play it, you don't have to have medal of honour LE or have pre ordered BF3, doing so gets you 48hours before everyone else so you get to experience the bugs first before the masses :P (of course deduct your download time from that 48hours first)

Im getting the game but will hold out till after the beta before i preorder, im hoping the HD7xxx series come out with a bf3 edition, id rather put another $100 towards a better graphics card and get the game for free.

Any news on when the BETA will launch for consoles? Xbox 360? I remember PS3 got the BETA earlier last year for Bad Company 2 and was delayed due to some *technical issues* for the Xbox 360.

Do whatever you want to do man.
