Hi i am looking at this 2.4GHz Wireless Control in http://www.chinabuye.com/video-games/ps3-accessories and i am intersted whats the point of ghz for a simple joystik and at least why PS3 needs a wireless controler when PS3 is inxactly that ?

It's because they are cheaper


Major issue with this is, each controller will needs it's own USB reciever

So two controllers that are 2.4GHZ instead of bluetooth = both your front USB ports used up!!




I have moved across the ditch.  Now residing in Melbourne as a VOIP/Video Technical Trainer/Engineer.

Peripherals for the PS3 are often USB not only because it is generally cheaper, but in some cases to allow compatibility with the PS2. This is not true in many cases but take for example the Buzz! buzzers, the SingStar mics, Guitar Hero, Rockband, etc. all of which still retain support for the PS2 as the console is still supported as a cheap family console for all those party games and such.
