We'll definitely be getting one. It was the deciding factor for my other half for us to get an XBox in the first place.

I am. Pre-ordered from EB yesterday as I had a bit of credit sitting around plus have a wii (and maybe an old xbox 360) to trade.

have already had a good go on it at a friends place and should be a lot of fun - plus will be a great workout......played volleyball and was tired after like 3 games

Will wait until I have had a play in store before deciding. Family is putting a bit of pressure on to get a wii type gaming interface. However I tried the Sony Move and was less then impressed.

It's all a bit meh for me at the moment. I might check it out once it's released but I'm not into existing motion control consoles/games so i can't see me being into Kinect. I'm all about laxing on the couch in a comatose position and autistically mashing buttons on my controller with only my fingers moving out of my entire body. That's my happy place.

This is the appealing thing for me, although I'm happy to move more than my fingers if I don't have to reach for the controller everytime I want to change something. Can't say the games thrill me to bits, but controlling all things streaming sans controller definitely appeals. Don't forget it has voice control as well.

This is also a big selling point for me, im always trying to find my xbox remote when i wanna play a DVD or movie. never again with Kinect. Im really looking forward to the dance central game too. coordination is getting a +1 soon :-p

Dance Central was pretty full on. I thought it was going to be a basic introduction type thing - pretty serious from the get go. Funny watching replays of your mates though

I have preordered with the 250GB console. Dance Central and MS committment to making it a success are my main reasons for getting Kinect

Who has the best prices?

have not turned on my xbox for a while now - maybe Kinect might change that. Will be getting it overseas - certainly not paying GST for it.

Best price I had seen was mighty ape as everyone else seemed to be doing it at $230 and they were doing $220. JB never advertises prices though, so they might match it

I'm thinking of trading in my ps3 for the xbox and its kinect, playstation move wasn't as awesome as I thought it would be.
On another note have you guys seen what it looks like in infrared?
