Hi,

I've just moved here from Oz and I've brought my DLINK 604T from home to use at the in-laws place.

They use Ihug.

The first thing I did was put on the latest NZ firmware. I then changed the settings on the 604 router to what the current ADSL (Dlink 302) modem has.

When I first turned it on, I got connected to the internet for about 15 minutes before I got disconnected. It re-connected itself 5 minutes later and then  was on-line for 10 mins.

Since then, it struggles to get a connection to the internet.

The logs basically say I lose DSL sync after about 45 seconds - 1min after gettong synced and the ADSL light is going off and on all the time. Even when i do get sync, I sometimes don't get an IP address off Ihug.

The 302 they have works fine, and the router I bought from OZ worked brilliantly with IINET over there and I never had an issue.

I spent 4 hours last week on it before I gave up.

I'm thinking the firmware might be the issue, but I'm not sure.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I'd do the reset as well .. the long one that resets to factory defaults .. hold the reset button in for something like 10 seconds (power it up first and let it settle for 10mins or so, then do it), I had weird problems once with mine and that cured it.

A techie detail, but have you set the VCI settings to 0.100?

They differ from country to country
