Hey geeks,

Looking for a new router for a house that is UFB eligible, after a lengthy consents process which may take months and may not pass.
In the mean time, I'll be on ADSL.

I spent a bit of time on helpdesks and experienced all the brands and models of the prior decade or so. Wondering what people are recommending today though, at a higher end.

  • My past experiences with TP Link were fairly good. They seem medium range and reliable.

  • Netcomm were cheap and solid but died quickly.

  • Dlink were terrible for port forwarding, and lately got hard to set up and manage.

  • Linksys was good but then went bad, and then were bought by Belkin who were terrible for port forwarding and compatibility with other devices.

  • I hear good things about Fritzbox but they're pricey.

  • Netgear were solid, but I had a few issues with later models.

I've seen some models offer nice displays with data transfer rates and the like. This would be nice to have.

What's your favourite, and why? :D
