I posted part of this question in the Spark forum earlier, but the issue I am currently having is possibly nothing to do with Spark, as there is now current a dial tone again on the line, and I have done more testing. Plus I still haven't got that issue with Spark resolved as to why the phone line keeps going down, but that is really different issue to this one.

The electrician left a telephone module to allow phone line to be split and  patched around the home, which is this one http://www.electricsmarts.com/industry/smartecat/product/view/Hubbell/NSOMTM12 . The module  is plugged into the POTS1 port on the ONT, and into the number 1 on the voice input line as shown in the photo below. However when it is patched to any of the rooms from the 1,2,3,4 ports below, there is no dial tone. However if I patch it from the TEST-IN PORT to a room, there is a dial tone. I am wondering if I am missing something, or this isn't the right type of module they should be using. I notice that the photo of the product on this website, shows the TEST-IN and TEST -OUT line linked with a wire. I am wondering if the electrician forgot to put that in, because they just left the module in the network cabinet with no box, instructions or cables etc, and it doesn' t look like there are any downloadable instructions. Anyone know, or am I right, and it needs the test ports linking?

Thanks for all the suggestions. I linked the the test in and the test out ports on the module with a  patch lead, and it has fixed it. So now have multiple phones around the house. So the jumper was obviously missing, and i needs the jumper to be in place to work. . Will get the electricain back to put that in, as they have other things they need to complete anyway.
