Hi,
I just got connected to xtra broadband yesterday.
I am not completely sure what to do with my modem.
By that I mean I connected the modem to my
ADSL line jack and the ethernet cable to my
computer. I was hoping the connection would
automatically work but I'm guessing now that
I have to configure the software on the modem
or something. It isn't the modem one would
get from xtra. It is a Billion and it says ADSL
VPN firewall router on it. I've used it before
on broadband connections and It worked fine.
Unfortunately I don't where the manual for
the modem is.
Any advice, anyone?
Cheers!

P.S. Sorry if this has been asked
before.

google the model number and look for the default username, password and ip address. Log on through your web browser (if that doesnt work, you may want to hard reset the unit). If you are having trouble logging on try rebooting the modem, setting your pc network adapter to dhcp, then reboot pc (or restart the adapter).

Once in, probably leave most settings default, username is yourusernamehere.xadsl@xtra.co.nz and password is pretty self explanatory.
