Hi all

Can someone please recommend a wireless router/modem for around $100?

Advise me if you think I should spend in excess of $100 for decent performance/stability.

I am in a flatting situation where around 3 - 5 wireless devices will be using the router at one time.

Hi,

I recommend this modem: http://www.trademe.co.nz/computers/networking-modems/routers-firewalls/auction-567010651.htm

This one is going for 100 bucks, but you can get them for 50 or 60 dollars. If you are tech savvy, you can install custom firmware and get a little extra bang for your buck too. My usual sync is 0.5Mb/s being rural. But I can get that up to 2.1Mb/s easy with this bad boy.

When I wasn't rural on a 14Mb/s connection, I could get it up to 17Mb/s no problem.

Lot of people rubbish the SMC stuff, but the SMC ADSL2/Wifi router I got for my folks has been brilliant - can pickup for around $35+ if you know someone with a trade/wholesale account somewhere.
