Not sure if this is the correct forum, so go easy!

I have an IPAD2 wifi version and have been trying to set up email (service provider is slingshot). Can receive email, but wont send. error message is "xxxx@slingshot.co.nz was rejected by the server.

I have gone through google for solutions and tried many things, but nothing seems to work.

Any ideas? Also does anyone know the email settings for slingshot? I have tried using what it says on the mail setting on Imac, but doesnt seem to work.

thanks

Adrian

What smtp server address are you using and what network are you connected to when the mail is rejected from sending?

This is what i have on the ipad settings:

POP account information:

Name: xxxxx
email: xxxx@slingshot.co.nz
Description: slingshot.co.nz

Incoming mail server:

Host name: pop3.slingshot.co.nz
username: xxxx
password: xxxxxx

Outgoing mail server:

SMTP: smtp.slingshot.co.nz

Under Advanced i have:

Incoming settings

Use SSL - off
i have nothing under authentication
server port :110

On my IMAC under mail preferences it has:

Account type: pop
Description:pop
email: xxxx@slingshot.co.nz
Full name: xxxxx xxxxxxx
Incoming mail server: pop3.slingshot.co.nz
username, password
outgoing mail server: smtp.slingshot.co.nz

then under this "use only this server" is highlighted
