I've had an ongoing problem with my internet connection. For at least four or so months the modem keeps dropping off, losing connectivity for a few seconds at a time, but repeatedly so - about 30 times a day. Needless to say I've called Telecom, had Chorus out, replaced all the cabling to/from the roadside, replaced the jackpoint with hard split connection, added a grunty UPS in case it was power fluctuations BUT NOTHING WORKS!

I don't understand geek speak, but I can tell you that apparently Chorus moved our cable from one port in the cabinet to another, then replaced the card the cable was plugged into, some bright spark told me it was a loose connection in the modem cable (replaced: it's not the problem), I've connected my PC via ethernet to the modem so not using wireless - all to no avail.

Where do I go now, what do I do for a solution? I've reported it AGAIN to Telecom who are monitoring and escalated to Tier 2, but seriously, I just want it to not drop off any more!
Halp!

Have you tried a different modem?

I'm not a complete idiot, I still have some parts missing.
