I'm having some really odd issues with my wireless.

I'm getting odd latency jitter:

I've tried multiple access points (Unifi, FritzBox), different channels, different SSIDs (longer, shorter, spaces, no spaces)

I can't quite pinpoint when this started happening.

inSSIDer suggests that I'm on the right channel (1):

Can anyone offer any suggestions apart from trying 5GHz, which I will do once I can buy a new AP that supports it..

It does look like interference to me - you're best to change the channel width to 20MHz to see if that solves it.

Tried both 20 and 40 to no avail :(

I don't, but I'm in a block of flats with people beside and above me.

This may be a stupid question, but can you just plug into ethernet instead of using wireless? That doesn't apply to portable devices of course, though may to laptops.

Yeah we have hard wired network available throughout the house, but this doesn't help for mobile devices, tablets etc

You may need a spectrum analyser, some off the Ubiquiti stuff have this built in. Possibly a cordless phone, video sender etc etc causing interference from your neighbours.
