I installed teh billionton software (porposed on the previus post) and now my 3970 looks like the 5450 about the bluetooth manager.

I succesfully installed the connection for activesync and my phone (t39).

Now I have a big problem when I try to follow the procedure to share the internet connection.
My USB dongles is a Tecom bt 3030 with the latest software 1.2.2.16

I followed teh procedure derscribed for teh 5450 but when I do the shortcut for the access it dosen't link to the PAN driver but to the Bloutooth dialup modem.

I think this happen because the softwrae installed on my pc dosen't support that feature.
Do you know if I can use other software or can fix my issue with other corrections?

Thanks

Hi! The software should allow, it's only one version behind the TDK software.

Have a try again, and look at the other first two threads in this forum for more information and support!

You may want to download the newest widcomm software the 1. 3.2.7 In this version it is nessary to goto the Local Services tab, then select Network Access and click properties in the top box of the page that pop up you'll need to change this to read "Allow other devices to access the Intenet/LAN via this computer"

I Installed the widcomm 1.3.2.7 and now it recognize correctly rhi pan driver.

I modified the local service to share internet but at the moment I am not able to surf internet using this connection.

I access the inetrent by the lan so I configured the lan to share the internet with the bluetooth access.

This dosen't work for me. Reading the ICS help it says that when you have a gateway is possible to have problems sharing internet.

Do you have experience with that?

I have WIN XP pro.

Thanks

Have a look in the other thread where some problems where identified. Also, check that you run welcome.exe from your windows folder (in your PPC) to make sure the pocket internet explorer configuration is set correctly.

I'm running WinXP pro on my system, and I am connecting to an accesspoint wirelessly, I share this connection with my F8T001. So I would say our setups are the same. It is working for me. The only change I made was I went into the Bluetooth Network and change the NetBIOS properties so that it was enabled. Note that changing the Bluetooth Network properties as far as IP address, or gateways, seems to break sharring for me.

On the iPAQ you want to use server assign addressing.
Running the first welcome program on your PPC in /windows is always a good idea if your having problems connecting to the internet. What error message are you getting? Your connections settings should be work settings/work settings/work and the center work settings should be modify to shouw this network connects to the internet.

Connecting to my Bluetooth PAN driver works fine, but I can't connect ot the internet or the lan... I canot run ICS as I access the internet through a LAN also... Does anyone have any ideas on how to run ICS on my computer just for the Bluetooth LAN? I use windows XP and a 3970..

Hmm I connect to the internet through a LAN, for most people that shouldn't be a problem, only if your LAN happens to be using 192.168.0.xxx will you have a problem. You share the LAN connection you connect to the internet with. ICS then will not change your LAN just the Bluetooth Network settings.

The problem is that my lan is using the 192.168.0.xxx range :) I am using ICS for internet sharing around the house... any ideas how to bypass this?

Ok, I haven't tried it, but what happens if you move the Bluetooth hardware to the computer runing the ICS service. You could get luck and have it share with both adapters. Or you could get one of the cheap routers and use it to share your internet connection to say 192.168.1.xxx. Which is what I am doing.

The bluetooth adapter I can't move (need it on my pc for other things..) and buying new stuff is always an idea, though I want to try change my bluetooth netwrk to the 1 range... I might try some other NAT solution... any recommendations?
