Hi,

I hope this is the right forum to ask this question. I used to connect to a Netgear RangeMax WPN824 with my old laptop running XP and with the WP111 USB Adapter as the laptop had no wireless capabilities.

I got my new Dell 1520 yesterday with Vista and it connects to the router no problem but I have no Internet connectivity. Is there something basic I am missing?

Thanks in advance.

Most likely got the wrong gateway or DNS server settings entered.

Have you checked this?

One other option (apart from the previous suggestions) is to check the network key if it is WEP or WPA enabled wireless.  If you use the wrong key it will come up as appearing to connect to the wireless router (at least it can on XP) but will not be.  i found this out yesterday connecting my sons laptop - after pinging the router (10.1.1.1 in my case) and getting no response it suddenly dawnwed on me I had given him the old key (I recently got a new wireless router).  So, try and ping your router IP and see if you get a response - if you do then the key isn't the problem.
