As my discussion on a earlier subject, I purchased the Netgear R7000 to use with Spark fiber. Once I set it up using Vlan10 it will run fine for a short while but will then lose the connection to the internet. Netgear Genie indicates that the connection from my computer to the R7000 is fine, but to the internet is down. I cannot even load the Netgear setup page in the browser. I am wondering if it is an issue between my system and the router losing the connection? Can anyone give me some advice on what may be causing this?
Is there something else in network settings that I need to do? Is it still picking up something from the old Spark router that is interfering. I have disabled my Bitdefender fire wall, but no change.
Also have updated to the latest firmware, but made no difference.

thanks,
David

if the setup page wont load then that sounds like a router/lan problem

How would the original router be causing anything? Do you still have your original Spark router plugged in?

Thanks both of you for the replies, I think I may have found my issue. I have an Ethernet cable running from my home office (router location) to our lounge media room, which has my Fire TV. I have disconnected the lounge Ethernet cable from the router (rebooted) and all worked fine. Later I then reconnected the lounge cable and the disconnects started again. I now have our electrician coming round in the next day or so to test the cable (they laid it).

Oh and sorry, I forgot to mention that the Spark router was not on or connected at the same time.
