I followed the guide on this site in regards to getting network access from my iPAQ to my laptop, the bluetooth connected but would not allow me to use ICS or look at any shared folders or even see my laptop. I am using a Belkin USB adapter. What I would like to do is use my PDA to access my work intranet via my laptop and bluetooth, if anyone has been able to connect an iPAQ to a belkin and then use their browser on thier PDA I would be fery appreciate if you could tell me how you did it.

Best Regards

Can you be more specific? Do you see any message or pop-up not in the guide?

Also, make sure you have ICS configured properly - and that means entering a DNS number in the virtual Bluetooth adapter (the one with address 192.168.0.1) if the DNS is not automatic. Search for DNS in this forums and you'll see another discussion on this.

Also, ICS will not allow you to access the VPN because it does not support the correct ports required. In this case you might have to try a third party product for routing, like Kerio's Winrouter.

I get the same dialog you get when you are using a mobile to dial up.

connecting...
Connecting to BT Network Access
Dialing from Travel
Using Bluetooth Null Modem
Dialing

On the PC side my Bluetooth profile for network access is telling me that I am connected and that 45 bytes have been sent and six received.

When I use the Bluetooth wizard to create a connection for the internet it also creates new bluetooth settings in my connections list. In these Bluetooth settings I get a modem connection called BT Network and the number it dials is +1.

The wizard creates these bluetooth settings every time.

I upgraded the bluetooth software on the PDA as suggested in other topics andI now have a Bluetooth PAN adapter.

I think it's the same problem: either the ICS is not configured properly (address is not 192.168.0.1, no DNS entry) or there's a personal firewall blocking communication.

If there's a connection like you describe, then I'd say it must be one of these three things to check...

I check all the information you suggested but still no luck. What I have is as follows:

Laptop Win 2K Pro

802.11b card
IP Address 192.168.1.2
Mask 255.255.255.0
ICS enabled for my Bluetooth adapter

Bluetooth Adapter
IP Address 192.168.0.1
Mask 255.255.255.0

Server Win 2K AS

802.11b Access Point
IP Address 192.168.1.1
Mask 255.255.255.0

On the server I have web hosting enabled, so I can access local web pages from my laptop which works fine.

PDA iPAQ 3870
Inbuilt Bluetooth
Bluetooth for windows CE BTW-CE Ver 1.3.1
Network Adapters -> Bluetooth PAN User Driver -> Use Server assigned Address
Connections -> Work Settings/Work Settings/Work
On the 2nd Work Settings I have selected Proxy server and ticked "This network connets to the Internet"

Any ideas?
