My thanks to those of you who have replied so promptly to my query.

It is obviously a complicated issue!

I have been fiddling around and have noticed that the speed has raised from  11mbps to 54mbps now!!

I suspect that my next move might be to visit the Swap Meet and update my wi-fi toys.
