Hello,

I was wondering if any of you BT enthusuasts could help me out. What I wan't to do is create a voice link to my computer, to which I can give voice commands. The range would have to be about 200m , I know this is much farther than typical BT range but can it be boosted with an anteanna? Basically I guess I am asking, what the best way to do this would be, would u use BT or another wireless protocol. (im trying to avaid going telephony).

The second question is can voice commands be given to a PC over BT, and if so, how does your BT headset know which BT adapter to connect to if this is a location which has numerous other BT devices around.

Any help you could provide would be appreciated.

Hi

I wonder if u may also want to try this...

I am interested in using my HBH-30 Headset with the PC (Win XP) for Netmeeting and other confs. May i trouble someone to point out how to setup a USB BT Adapter on the PC to the BT Headset... or point me to somewhere that describes it.

I already have BT pairing done, and the are profiles for Headset and Voice Gateway, but for some reason while i can get a connection, the isn't any sound from the Headset.

I read somewhere Voice Gateways allows your mobile phone call to be redirected to the PC speakers.

About the BT connection without sound... When you install the Bluetooth software a new Audio device is installed (pretty much like the virtual LAN adapter).

To be able to use the BT audio you have to go to the control panel (Start | Settings | Control Panel) in your laptop/desktop and select the appropriate audio device:

Then, from My Bluetooth Plaes you can right-click the icon corresponding to the headset and select Connect.

I would like to be able to use a BT headset for NetMeeting, video conferencing, etc but can't get my computer to recognize the BT headset as an audio device.

Here are the Specifics:
IBM T23 Laptop
Belkin Bluetooth PC Card F8T002
Sony Ericsson HBH-30 headset

I've gotten the PC and headset to pair with eachother, but the PC won't discover any services on the headset. I've followed M Freitas' directions listed at http://www.geekzone.co.nz/content.asp?contentid=903 but I don't have the option to connect headset.

Any ideas, suggestions??????

The headset profile is only available in the latest (1.3.2) versions of Widcomm software.

Looking at Belkin's website I can see they have version 1.2.2.4 for download. I'm not sure this will support the headset profile.

You might want to contact Belkin through their support pages and check if they have newer version of this software.

It doesn't appear that Belkin offers a version 1.3xxx driver. Can you recommend a BT card that does?

The TDK does, it uses the same software as the USB version of their hardware.
