I have an anoying problem with a notebook running vista ultimate. Since updating to SP1, pretty much everything runs fine except the integrated Bluetooth. After coming back from Hibernation the Bluetooth drivers fail, primarily with the Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator and BTHUSB.sys for the HP Integrated Bluetooth Module. I have tried drivers from HP and various degrees of removal/reinstallation of drivers.

Everything was fine prior to the SP1 installation.

Any help most appreciated!

One of those drivers Microsoft warned had problems with SP1 and that's why they were holding off?

Have you manually installed SP1 or was it offered on Windows Update?

Manual Install. No Bluetooth drivers listed to my knowledge. Could be wrong but I did check. Also, this problem affected pre-SP1 installations, it's not something noted as being a problem post SP1. http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=948343

EDIT: Note that the update was offered, but I used the manual method as I already had the install file in the toolbox for multiple machine updates.

Interestingly, disabling the Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator (when it is actually detected by Vista) allows bluetooth devices to connect to the notebook. There are work-arounds, but obviously not the best outcome.

EDIT: Is it possible, or event worth trying, to install the WIDCOMM stack instead?
