Please let me know if this is the wrong forum to post this. I am with Flip and whenever I use the phone my internet cuts out and I get the message - "your connection is not private". This happens with both wifi and ethernet connections. My phone is plugged into a different jack than the modem. I have called Flip and they said that it is impossible to have this problem!!! It's been happening for 2 years - since I moved into this house. It's very frustrating as I can't use the phone and internet at the same time. Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be?

Assuming you are using ADSL, do you have filters on all the jacks that phones are plugged into? Monitored alarm?

I used to get this happening with crappy plug in filters. Installing a master filter fixed the problem.

How old are the filters?

The filters are a couple of years old - they were new when I first started having the problem

Okay thanks! To get a master filter installed - would I install it in the jack my phone is plugged into or the one my broadband is plugged into

Master splitter filter is installed at external termination point.

Lack of a master splitter filter doesn't explain this message though and where its coming from.

The modem/router is probably one of those programmed to redirect traffic to its admin pages to display an error message when the WAN is down. "Your connection is not private" is displayed as part of the web browser's attempt to block this redirect on https traffic.
