I've picked up a couple of these and currently playing around with them and I for the life of me can't get any devices to connect over 5ghz

All wireless devices in the house are connecting on wireless N over 2.4

Things I've tried are

  1. upgrading the the latest firmware - v1.0.5.15
  2. creating a secondary SSID with the option of 5.0 only and have enabled it but I cant see it broadcasting - it pops up everynow and then but whenever I try and connect to it keeps returning a invalid password message
  3. changing the priority of 5.0 to highest
  4. changing the primary SSID from dual-banding to 5.0 - This resulted in not being able to see the SSID broadcast at all

I have two of them so to rule out a faulty AP i've tried using them one powered up at a time with the same results

The throughput on these have been quite lack luster but I'm putting that down to the over saturated 2.4 frequency ?

Thoughts anyone?

I have two GWN7610s, but am more of someone who likes to try new devices without knowing how to utilise their capabilities to the max.

Nevertheless, mine are on V1.0.5.15 and the dashboard tells me I have 6 clients on 2.4G and 11 on 5G.

I only have one SSID and there is an ethernet cable to each 7610 i.e. not daisy chained.

I have done nothing out of the ordinary apart from changing the Radio Power for both 7610s to High, on 2.4G and on 5G.

Sorry I cannot be of an any help.

no worries, it was likely on a chanel that your devices couldn't use. did you have the devices region set to NZ?

Yep had it set to NZ.

Weird thing was, the channel it auto set to wasn't even in the list of available channels for me to select!
