Alrighty, my goals here are the following: to be able to use my two bluetooth, paired devices to be able to share the internet, transfer files, and possibly have windows network connectivity (refer to computers by name/ip for drive sharing, etc).

I haven't even started on transferring files because the sharing of the internet is having limited success.

I'm trying to setup a LAN to share internet with my laptop using a bluetooth adapter from Kensington(model 33085) and a D-link DB-120 (The first uses the WIDCOMM 1.4.2.8 driver, while the second uses the WIDCOMM 1.2.1.20 driver that came with my D-Link hardware).

The dongles are installed and both computers, both devices are paired, and my LAN network card has been shared (bridged?) with the Bluetooth connection on my server computer. Its IP address has been set to 192.168.0.1 by the Windows ICS.

My laptop is connected via bluetooth, and has the ip address 192.168.0.42, with a DNS server of 192.168.0.1, and a gateway of the same IP (the IP of the server). I have tried to connect to the internet just using these settings, or using the Bluetooth “dial up” to another Bluetooth method which gives 115kbps. Using the Null connection method, my email client retrieves email. However, Firefox will isn't using/seeing this network connection and returns "address cannot be resolved" for any link, etc that I click or attempt to visit. But I emphasize my email client (Outlook 2003) checks for email and sends/recieves mail..

My laptop is running Windows XP Pro Service Pack 2, and its connecting to a computer with Windows XP service pack 1, with all firewalls disabled.

I'm not sure where to go from here. I mean, I guess it "partially" works. But I require instant messengers and internet browsers to work.
