Yesterday I installed an Orbi mesh network in my home (RBK50 kit). Got it working fine after one false start. I have many devices connected and working fine including my Samsung UHD 7500 TV. Except for some reason the Freeview app on the TV goes straight to a completely black screen and stays there.
I've tried powering off the TV (unplugging from wall) and reinstalling the Freeview app and it remains the same. Every other network function on the TV works fine. Netflix is fine, the TVNZ OnDemand app is fine. The YouTube app is fine. So it's not the network connection as such, but I have to wonder whether there's something in the Orbi that's blocking it. Somehow. It was working fine before I switched the network over yesterday. I've checked the router logs and can see where it is assigned an IP address and then no further mentions (despite some printers apparently making ARP attacks!).
So... it's not the TV because everything else on the TV works, and it's not the network because everything else on the network works (including many functions of the TV)... so what could it be? The reason I am picking on the Orbi is because it is new. I have it set up to do the VLAN tagging required for my Spark fibre (it is connected directly to the ONT) and I did see mention of "IPTV" in the user guide with respect to this but as far as I can see it's ALL traffic that's being tagged so I can't see how that could affect it unless the TV is doing something odd with Freeview data only.
Any pointers appreciated.
